Where the Film Data Comes From
Every film on the list, and every fact on its card, comes from Wikidata, the free knowledge base that also supplies Wikipedia. Titles are shown in your language where an official translation exists, with the original English title underneath.
The award years are the years each prize was given. For the Oscars that is the year of the ceremony, which is usually the year after the film came out: a film released in 1942 won at the 1944 ceremony, for example. Festival prizes are dated by the festival.
Genres follow Wikidata’s classification, grouped into broader families such as “crime & thriller” or “war & history”, and many films belong to several. Runtimes are the official running times recorded for each film.
